Beaded Barrettes

Fringed The fringed, beaded barrettes offered here are a specialty created by Berniece Kahgee, an Oneida woman from The People of The Standing Stone. Berniece is a self-taught artist who incorporates the colours of Mother Earth into her barrettes. Each one of these pretty pieces takes several hours of fine work to finish and delight young and old alike.

Floral The rich floral designs on the leather are the work of Kathy Rodriguez, a Tuscarora woman from Six Nations. She is the beading instructor for the Niagara Chapter of Native Women and greatly enjoys passing on her knowledge of technique and design. Kathy started beading when she was only eight years old, learning over the years from a variety people. Her rich floral designs on deer hide or moose are a favourite with collector's and on the Pow Wow Trail.
